In general, one of the maritime services of Bandar Abbas Aria Container Terminal is the storage of full and empty refrigerated containers.
In general, a container is a tool for safe storage of goods and convenient transportation. However, if the goods are food or sensitive materials whose storage conditions are subject to adjusting the ambient temperature to a temperature below zero degrees Celsius, a device called a refrigerated container is needed.
However, the purpose of using a refrigerated container is not always to transport food, and sometimes such a practical device is used to store these materials. Any refrigerated container can be stationary in one place and, after connecting it to the city's electricity, it starts to regulate the temperature inside.
The most important use of refrigerated containers as food storage is for food manufacturers who intend to mass produce their products and store them in different cities and then distribute them regularly in the market. For example, a factory may produce a specific food product in the city of Mashhad and distribute it throughout the country. In this case, after each production run, the products must be sent to any other city in the required amount, in which case the cost of transporting the goods and adjusting the time of their shipment may pose many difficulties for the respected manufacturer.
General information about refrigerated containers:
Refrigerated containers are a means of maintaining the temperature of chilled or frozen goods during transportation. A refrigerated container is essentially made up of the following three parts:
1-An insulated compartment
2-A cooling system
3-A ventilation and air circulation system in the compartment
For international transportation, a refrigerated container must meet the technical standards of the ISO104 Commission.
Usually, the dimensions of a refrigerated container are as follows.
Length: (12.12 m) 40 ft – (6.6 m) 20 ft
Height: Mostly 2.57 m or 2.74 m tall
In addition, the refrigerated container must be able to provide temperatures from +20 to -25 °C.
Mobile Container Power Generators (Gen-SET):
When transporting a refrigerated container on land, its fully electronic refrigeration system requires the support of a diesel generator to provide the power required by the system. These diesel generators allow us to move the refrigerated container to the desired loading or unloading locations in a lighted state and prevent waste during unloading and loading. Currently, two generator designs are available for this purpose.
1- A generator that can be attached to the container top, which is placed on top of the container on the cooling unit.
2- A generator that can be attached from below, which is connected to the bottom of the container and its drawbar. Currently in Iran, by entrusting this model of generators from us and the esteemed shipping companies and providing their services from the Port and Sea Company, such as repairs and maintenance, connecting them to the container, and monitoring and training their operation to our dear customers, an important step is being taken in providing the best possible services to you, the esteemed importers and exporters.
A refrigerated container has an insulated body and a grid-shaped aluminum frame, which itself maintains the temperature inside. The dimensions of each refrigerated container are 40 feet, of which a small part of about 2 meters is occupied by the cooling system.
